This principle is the same in the history of literature; the main aspects and images in literature are timeless. They keep their archetypal and images in literature are timeless. They keep their archetypal aspects, and images in literature are timeless. They keep their archetypal aspects, and positivism. So any external trends from other cultures can not disrupt the important elements derived from pure Korean Literature. Our ancestors' sense of the supernatural has been transmitted into the unconsciousness of modern Koreans. For example, the Korean habit of eating glutinousrice grew out of a story about a king's gratitude to a raven who had helped him, Chun-hyang's fidelity from Domi's wife who ran away to escape from a bad king's love, Simcheong's respect for her father from a story about a "poor girl good mother,"(貧女養母) A magpie's cry known to us as a good omen, makes us expect a piece of good news, as our ancestors did. This is an example of the interconnection of life and its archetypes. We can find this bird image appears in another pattern in our modern literature. That cry is deeply imagined in the unconsciousness of Koreans. If we expand this idea to a broader area, we can guess that the swallow in the story of two brothers "Heung-bu and Nol-bu", "The Meditation on a Snipe" (도요새에 관한 명상) and, "The Bird that belonged to the Other World"(저승새) will stir up the same feelings, These facts are called the interconnection theory in literature. In "Simcheong Story", the sad heroine had drowned in the sea, but she dropped down to the water-palace and met her blind father again, after her rebirth in this world. In the classics, this world and the other world are thought of as places where happiness and joy come to us, where the living cad meet the dead. In modern works, these thought are expressed in fantasy and are well illustrated in "Iher Island."(이어도) This is another unchangeable image in Korean literature. Many writers reveal a belief in an after-life in their works, but that has been adjusted to modern concepts and theories.
Thus the interconnection theory is a reasonable necessity that connects all works from the classics to modern literature. This thesis hopes to from the ground work for further investigative studies in this concept.
