The purpose of This study is to investigate relationships among maternal attachment, caring behaviors and children`s attachment. Subjects were 239 mothers and their 239 preschool children. The data were analyzed using path analysis. The results of this study were as follows. Children`s attachment was related to maternal attachment to their own mother, limit setting, parent involvement and intimacy, and responsiveness in caring behaviors. Positive variables affecting the children`s attachment were such variables as maternal attachment to their mothers, limit setting, and responsiveness in caring behaviors. Maternal attachment to both their parents had the effect of the limit setting and responsiveness which led to children`s attachment. Those variables which effected children`s attachment can be put in order like them; maternal attachment to their mother, responsiveness, and limit setting.
