In this study, I tried to compare two plays, 「The Fully Boarded Ship」(by Chun SeungSe) and「The Male Impulse」, (by Cho KoangHwa) in terms of masculinity. Komchi is the hero of the former and ChangJung is the latter. Two plays have similar aspects in which each hero shows signs of masculines spirit. But there are differences between them. Komchi, following patriarchal system is a fisherman who lived in nature. He drove all the surroundin people into suffering. In contrast, ChangJung, confusing hi self in patriarchal system, is a boss of organized violence. He is ruined by his neighbors who rise in revolt against his distorted manly spirit. These differences are related to each dramatic style.
