This study analyzed how rater positionality shapes the application of evaluation criteria, score patterns, and relationships among raters in the assessment of inquiry activity presentations. The research data consisted of self-assessments, peer assessments by students who conducted the inquiry, teacher assessments, and observer assessments by non-participants, collected during an inquiry activity presentation event conducted at a high school. All raters assessed inquiry content and presentation performance on a five-point scale using the same evaluation criteria. In addition, a post-survey was conducted to collect raters’ perceptions of the criteria that influenced their scoring. The results showed that participants directly involved in the inquiry, including self-raters and inquiry-performing peer raters, placed relatively greater importance on presentation performance criteria, while teachers tended to emphasize inquiry content criteria. Non-inquiry observers considered both inquiry content and presentation performance criteria. In terms of score levels, self-assessments were the lowest, participant peer assessments were the highest, and non-participant observer assessments formed an intermediate level. Correlation analysis showed that self-assessments had little relationship with other raters’ scores, whereas significant correlations were found among participant peer assessments, teacher assessments, and non-participant observer assessments. In particular, non-inquiry observer assessments showed high correlations with both teacher assessments and participant peer assessments. This study suggests that rater positionality structures scoring patterns in performance assessment situations and highlights the need to actively use teacher assessment, inquiry-performing peer assessment, and non-inquiry observer assessment in project-based inquiry presentation assessment contexts.
