In recent consumer goods markets, functional differentiation between products has gradually diminished, and accordingly, package design has played an increasingly important role in consumers’ purchase decisions. In addition, brand collaboration has been widely utilized as a key strategy for product differentiation and enhancement of brand value. However, there remains a lack of empirical studies that examine the relationship between collaboration hand cream package design characteristics and purchase intention. Accordingly, this study analyzes the impact of collaboration hand cream package design characteristics on consumers’ purchase intention. Based on previous studies, design characteristics are classified into scarcity, aesthetics, trendiness, and originality, and empirical analysis is conducted using survey data. The results show that scarcity and originality have a significant positive (+) effect on purchase intention, whereas aesthetics and trendiness do not have a statistically significant effect. This suggests that consumers place greater importance on differentiation and scarcity value of products rather than visual aesthetics or trendiness. Therefore, in collaboration package design strategies, strengthening scarcity and originality may be effective in enhancing consumers’ purchase intention. This study has academic and practical significance in that it empirically analyzes the impact of collaboration hand cream package design characteristics on consumers’ purchase intention.
