The purpose of this study is to explore the essential requirements for digital textbooks in the field of grammar education, given their imminent nationwide implementation. The results identify several key conditions for digital textbooks to effectively support grammar instruction.
First, digital textbooks must allow for continuous updates to correct inaccuracies and clarify ambiguous content, thereby ensuring the coherence of the material. Second, they should incorporate a wide range of multimedia resources—such as videos, audio, images, and external links—to facilitate students’ understanding of grammatical concepts. Third, features enabling collaboration and sharing should be integrated, allowing students to engage in collective problem-solving. Fourth, digital textbooks should provide materials that encourage learners to move beyond basic comprehension toward autonomous analysis and inquiry; this should be supported by functionalities that allow teachers to adapt and supplement content. Fifth, for optimal learning efficiency, the use of dedicated devices for digital textbooks is recommended. Finally, in the 'diagnosis and remediation' stages, gamification elements should be actively incorporated to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
