Purpose: This study examines the effects of 2025 pilot teacher induction program on novice teachers’ professional adjustment. Design/methodology/data/approach: Using propensity score matching (PSM), this study examined differences in teacher efficacy, job satisfaction, and emotional exhaustion between the treatment and control groups, as well as the moderating effect of inductee teachers’ beliefs. Findings/Results: Participation in the teacher induction program had significant effects on intrinsic job satisfaction and emotional exhaustion. In addition, moderation analyses showed that the positive effect on job satisfaction was stronger among inductee teachers who believed that students can change through education and student guidance.
Value: This study provides initial evidence that the effects of the teacher induction program may vary according to teachers’ beliefs rather than operating uniformly. The findings suggest that both future policy design and institutionalization should more clearly reflect the program’s purpose of supporting novice teachers’ early professional adjustment.
