胡適의 詩經論 소고 = A Study of Hu Shi’s Theory of the Shijing

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중국 근대를 기획한 호적의 詩經論을 탐구한다. 호적의 《詩經》 연구는 전통적인 경학을 해체하고, 근대 학문적 틀 안에서 재해석하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 그의 《詩經》 연구는 철학, 문학, 국고정리(國故整理)라는 세 가지 층위에서 이루어졌다. 궁극적으로 호적의 시경론은 단순히 《詩經》에 대한 연구로서의 의의를 넘어서, 중국에서 근대 학문 체계를 구축하는 하나의 방법으로 기능했다.

This study explores how Hu Shi(胡適), a key architect of Chinese modernity, reinterpreted the Shijing(詩經, Book of Odes) by introducing Western academic methodologies. Hu Shi’s research aimed to dismantle the traditional canonical authority of the text and reconstruct it within modern academic frameworks. This paper analyzes his Shijing theory through three discourses: philosophy, literature, and the Reorganizing the National Heritage(國故整理). Ultimately, Hu Shi’s work functioned as a critical experimental site for constructing a modern academic system in China, marking a decisive shift from Canonical interpretation to objective pursuit of truth.
