This study qualitatively explores the processes of identity formation, career identity, and cultural adaptation experienced by Korean Third Culture Kids(TCK) who have grown up overseas for extended periods due to their parents’ occupations, from a Christian perspective. The participants consisted of six Korean TCK, and the data were analyzed using qualitative research methods, focusing on three categories: self-identity, career identity, and cultural adaptation. The findings indicate that TCK developed flexible and open identities through their multicultural experiences and continuously sought to integrate their complex cultural identities within a Christ-centered framework. In terms of career, they perceived their multicultural background as a strength and tended to understand their vocation not merely as a means of livelihood but as a platform for practicing their faith-based calling. In particular, they showed a strong interest in fields that connect people; however, conflicts with the conservative expectations of Korean society emerged as a significant challenge. Regarding cultural adaptation, TCK viewed cultural differences as part of God’s creative diversity and demonstrated an attitude of embracing conflicts as part of their faith journey. This study reveals that TCK engage in an active process of meaning-making, integrating self-identity, career, and cultural adaptation centered on their faith. Furthermore, it suggests that their experiences can serve as important social and spiritual assets for promoting reconciliation and the acceptance of differences in a multicultural society. Based on these findings, the study proposes the need for further research in this area.
