젠더 프리즘 관점에서 본 예술 속 여성 이미지 연구 : 신사임당과 마릴린 먼로를 중심으로 = A Study of Women's Images in Art from a Gender Prism Perspective : Focusing on Shin Saimdang and Marilyn Monroe

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 젠더 프리즘을 이론적 틀로 하여 신사임당과 마릴린 먼로의 예술 속 여성 이미지 형성과 변형 과정을 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 두 인물의 이미지는 개인적 정체성보다 국가 이데올로기, 대중문화 산업, 교육 제도와 같은 구조적 힘에 의해 재구성되었음이 확인되었다. 신사임당은 ‘현모양처’ 담론의 상징으로 제도화되었고, 마릴린 먼로는 할리우드 스타 시스템이 구축한 성적 아이콘으로 기호화되었다. 이러한 재현은 시각적·서사적 장치를 통해 여성성을 자연화하고 교육과 일상문화 속에서 젠더 규범을 재생산하였다. 최근의 재해석은 단일한 여성 신화에 균열을 내며 주체의 다층성을 복원하고 있다. 본 연구는 젠더 프리즘이 여성 이미지를 권력 관계 속에서 분석하는 유효한 도구임을 제시하고, 교육과 미디어의 비판적 재구성 필요성을 제안한다.

This study, using the gender prism as a theoretical framework, comparatively analyzed the formation and transformation of female images in the art of Shin Saimdang and Marilyn Monroe. The analysis revealed that the images of both figures were reshaped by structural forces such as national ideology, the popular culture industry, and the educational system, rather than by individual identities. Shin Saimdang was institutionalized as a symbol of the discourse of "good wife and good mother," while Marilyn Monroe was symbolized as a sexual icon constructed by the Hollywood star system. These representations naturalized femininity through visual and narrative devices and reproduced gender norms in education and everyday culture. Recent reinterpretations are disrupting the monolithic feminine myth and restoring the multi-layered nature of the subject. This study suggests that the gender prism is a valid tool for analyzing female images within power relations and suggests the need for a critical restructuring of education and the media.
