“Room of Errors”(ROE) 기반 시뮬레이션 교육이 간호대학생의 환자안전 역량과 의사소통 능력에 미치는 효과 = Effects of Room of Errors(ROE)-based Simulation Education on Patient Safety Competency and Communication Skills of Nursing Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 ROE 기반 시뮬레이션 교육이 간호대학생의 환자안전 역량과 의사소통 능력에 미치는 효과를검증하기 위한 단일군 전후사전-사후 측정 유사실험 연구로 진행되었다. 연구대상자는 K시에 소재한 간호대학 3 학년 학생 211명으로 ROE 기반 시뮬레이션 교육을 제공하였다. 환자안전 역량과 의사소통 능력의 차이는 paired t-test로 분석하였다. 연구결과 ROE 기반 시뮬레이션 교육 후에 환자안전 역량(t=18.09, p<.001)과 의사소통 능력(t=7.86, p<.001)이 유의하게 향상되었다. 환자안전 역량의 하위 영역인 안전에 대한 지식(t=18.47, p<.001), 기술(t=16.84, p<.001), 태도(t=5.27, p<.001) 모두 유의한 결과를 나타냈다. 본 연구 결과 ROE 기반 시뮬레이션 교육은 오류 환경에서의 경험을 통해 간호대학생의 환자안전 역량과 의사소통 능력을 통합적으로 강화하는 유용한 전략이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.

This study aimed to examine the effects of Room of Error (ROE)-based simulation education on nursing students’ patient safety competencies and communication skills using a single-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design. The participants were 211 third-year nursing students from a nursing college in K city who completed the ROE-based simulation program. The difference between patient safety competency and communication skills was analyzed using a paired t-test. The results showed that patient safety competencies(t=18.09, p<.001) and communication skills(t=7.86, p<.001) significantly improved after the education. All subdomains of patient safety competencies-knowledge (t=18.47, p<.001), skills (t=16.84, p<.001), and attitudes (t=5.27, p<.001)-also showed significant improvement. These findings suggest that ROE-based simulation education, through experiential learning in error-designed environments, may serve as an effective strategy to enhance nursing students’ patient safety competencies and communication skills
