Objectives: his report describes the clinical course of a patient with migraine without aura who showed symptom improvement following treatment with acupuncture and Insamyangyoung-tang-gagambang.
Methods: The patient presented with recurrent migraine attacks accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Based on clinical features and diagnostic criteria, migraine without aura was diagnosed. Treatment consisted of acupuncture and Insamyangyoung-tang-gagambang, selected according to Korean medicine pattern differentiation, and clinical changes were observed during the treatment period.
Results: Over the course of treatment, both the intensity and frequency of migraine attacks progressively decreased. Gastrointestinal symptoms associated with headache resolved early, and complete remission of migraine was achieved by the end of treatment, with headache intensity improving from NRS 8 to NRS 0.
Conclusions: The findings of this case suggest that combined acupuncture and Insamyangyoung-tang-gagambang treatment may have therapeutic potential for patients with migraine without aura.
