Purpose: This study analyzed the research trends in inclusive itinerant education for students with disabilities in general classrooms, and examined effective operational approaches based on key discussions in prior studies. Method: Thirty-four journal articles and theses, published between 2010 and 2025, were reviewed. Studies were analyzed by publication year, research participants, school level, methodology, and research themes, and their results and discussions were synthesized to identify recurring issues and patterns in improvement-oriented discourse. Results: Research on inclusive itinerant education has increased since 2010, with a notable increase in the 2020s and a predominance of qualitative approaches. Studies have primarily focused on itinerant teachers, with kindergarten and elementary school teachers being the most frequently examined. Research themes expanded from operational conditions to teacher professionalism, collaboration, role clarification, and institutional improvement, while core challenges, such as insufficient guidelines and collaboration difficulties, persisted. Conclusion: Inclusive itinerant education is shifting from individual pull-out instruction to a school-based support system for inclusive education. Enhancing its quality requires standardized operational guidelines that specifically focus on inclusive itinerant education, systematic professional development, formal collaboration structures, and strengthened student-centered support.
