This study conducted a meta-analysis to comprehensively verify the effect of the elderly participation in dance pro grams on psychological happiness. From 2010 to 2024, as a result of systematically collecting studies that re ported dance programs, feelings of happiness, quality of life, and satisfaction for the elderly in domestic academic DBs, 13 out of 206 (total of 3,394 samples) that met the inclusion criteria were used for the final analysis. The effect size was derived by random effect model analysis. First, dance participation showed a moderate significant positive effect (ES = 0.410) on the psychological well-being of the elderly. Second, the gender-specific effect was a medium-sized effect, so the gender difference was not significant. Third, the psychological and emotional areas, social relations areas, and physical behavior areas all showed moderate effects, and among them, the social rela tions area was the highest. This study empirically suggests that dance activities contribute to the improvement of emotional and psychological health and happiness of the elderly through quantitative integration of previous studies.
