This study aims to suggest future directions for the development of research in this field, and to provide foundational data for subsequent studies. by analyzing and examining the trends of domestic research on multicultural education for young children, To achieve this, 64 master's and doctoral theses related to the topic, published between 2000 and 2024, were analyzed by calculating frequencies and percentages according to publication year, research methods, research subjects, research contents, and core competencies. The findings revealed an increasing need for qualitative research, greater interest in studies targeting young children, and more research focusing on the core competencies that should be acquired during early childhood. Furthermore, the study identified the need for program development reflecting the 4th Standard Childcare Curriculum and the 2019 revised Nuri Curriculum for multicultural young children, as well as the development of longitudinally connected programs. This study is significant in that it highlights the influence and future direction of multicultural education for young children through a comprehensive review of domestic research trends in this field.
