Cymbidium “Yeondurang” was developed by the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science in 2023 as a green-flowered cultivar suitable for cut-flower production. The hybrid originated from a cross between C. “Daijeolturuk” and C. “Romeo” conducted in 2009. Following artificial hybridization, 121 seedlings were obtained through in vitro seed germination and subsequently acclimatized under greenhouse conditions. Based on comprehensive evaluations of morphological, physiological, and flowering characteristics, two promising lines were selected. To verify the stability and uniformity of these lines, first and second-characteristic trials were conducted from 2016 to 2022. As a result, the final line coded “C09037-45” was designated as “Wongyuo F1-80” and officially named “Yeondurang.” This cultivar is a medium-sized plant with upright inflorescences averaging 67.2 cm in length and produces approximately 22 light-green flowers per peduncle. Its vase life is 34.3 days, which is 6 days longer than that of “Lovely King.” Flowering begins in January. The proliferation ability is comparable to that of “Lovely King,” and it is expected to allow large-scale propagation for commercial utilization (Registration No. 10591).
