Knowledge Convergence in Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences (2021-2023) : A Text-Mining Approach Using TF-IDF and LDA

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 팬데믹 이후 중국의 인문사회과학 연구가 기술적·사회적·문화적 전환 속에서 어떻게 재편되고 있는지를 탐색한다. 이를 위해 국가사회과학기금(NSSFC, 2021-2023)에서 지원한 5,887개의 연구과제 제목을 텍스트 마이닝 기법으로 분석하여 최근의 지식융합 패턴을 도출하였다.
TF-IDF와 LDA 토픽 모델링 결과, “메커니즘(机制)”, “정책(政策)”, “디지털(数字)”, “문화(文化)”, “생태(生态)”와 같은 핵심 주제가 확인되었으며, 이는 체계화, 정책혁신, 디지털 전환, 문화적 포용, 지속가능성 등 다섯 가지 지식융합 축으로 폭넓게 묶을 수 있다. 또한 디지털 경제, 정책 및 제도 혁신, 문화 정체성, 생태문명, 이론-방법론적 융합, 지역발전 등 여섯 가지 주요 토픽이 도출되었다.
분석 결과, 중국의 인문사회과학 연구는 국가 전략과 사회적 수요에 부합하는 통합적·학제적 구조로 진화하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 동아시아 지식융합 모델을 개발하는 데 기초를 제공한다.

This study explores how China’s humanities and social sciences have been reorganized amid rapid technological, social, and cultural transformations after the pandemic. Using text-mining techniques, 5,887 projects funded by the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC, 2021-2023) were analyzed to uncover recent patterns of knowledge convergence.
TF-IDF and LDA topic modeling identified key themes such as “mechanism,” “policy,” “digital,” “culture,” and “ecology,” which can be broadly grouped into five axes of convergence－systematization, policy innovation, digital transformation, cultural inclusion, and sustainability. Six dominant topics emerged: digital economy, policy and institutional innovation, cultural identity, ecological civilization, theoretical methodological convergence, and regional development.
Findings show that China’s humanities and social sciences are evolving into an integrated, cross-disciplinary structure aligned with national strategies and social needs, offering a basis for developing an East Asian Knowledge Convergence Model.
