한국어 잠시상의 해석과 표현에 관하여 = On the Interpretation and Expression of the Korean Delimitative Aspect

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국어에서 ‘잠시상’이 어떻게 실현되고 어떠한 기능으로 발달하고 있는지를 탐색하였다. 중국어와 러시아어에서 ‘잠시상’은 문법 체계 속에서 실현되지만, 한국어에서는 문법적 범주가 아닌 표현론적 동기에 따라 부사 ‘잠시’, ‘잠깐’, ‘한번’이나 보조용언 ‘-어 보-’를 통해 실현된다. 이들 부사어는 [잠시]의 의미를 적극적으로 표상하며, 화자의 요청을 완화하고 청자의 부담을 경감하는 상호주관화된 표현으로 기능한다. 국립국어원 모두의 말뭉치(구어) 분석 결과, 이러한 부사어들은 요청 화행 어미와 높은 공기 빈도를 보였으며, 이는 [잠시]의 의미가 단순한 시간적 지속을 객관적으로 드러내는 것을 넘어, 청자의 부담을 줄이는 공손성 표지로 기능이 확장되고 있음을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explores how the delimitative aspect is realized and functionally developed in Korean. While Chinese and Russian encode this aspect within their grammatical systems, Korean expresses it through discourse-motivated means, employing adverbs such as jamshi, jamkkan, and hanbeon, as well as the auxiliary verb construction -eo bo-. These adverbs share the temporal property of [short duration] and function as intersubjective devices that mitigate the speaker’s imposition and reduce the hearer’s burden in request contexts. An analysis of the National Institute of the Korean Language’s spoken corpus shows that these adverbs frequently co-occur with request endings, suggesting that the meaning of [short duration] in Korean has extended beyond an objective temporal sense to operate as a politeness marker that regulates interpersonal relations in discourse.
