This study aims to propose a design system that allows designers with insufficient professional design knowledge to easily generate various color design proposals using reference images received from clients, in order to address the shortage of specialized personnel in the interior color matching work of cargo ship cabins. The proposed system is designed to include design color concepts that reflect the basic principles of color matching and the unique characteristics of the shipping company, focusing on producing more effective design outcomes. Therefore, it enables prompt and convenient design confirmation discussions with the shipping company, without compromising the expertise required for color design. The color matching design system process is structured in four stages, with a proposal for an automatic repetition mechanism where the computer performs calculations. Additionally, convenient user interfaces and open-source software are utilized at both the input and output stages. The automatic color matching generation system for cabins proposed in this study is expected to complement the limitations and issues faced by the shipbuilding industry, where it is difficult to attract specialized designers.
