서양 춤음악의 시대별 장르에 따른 ‘정악(正樂)’과 ‘민속악(民俗樂)’의 음악적 속성 = The Musical Attributes of ‘Jeongak’ and ‘Folk Music’ According to the Genre of Western Dance Music by Period

Humans have always taken cultural steps along with dancing. In particular, Western music has developed from dance music to instrumental music. Dance music also differs in form depending on the class and place. Today, Korean traditional music called ‘Gukak’ is largely divided into Jeongak and folk music. Looking at the musical form, most of its form and content follow the music style of the late Joseon Dynasty. In other words, it can be seen that the sentiment of Korean traditional music is strong in the Confucian concept. The Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras are the examples of the era of Western music history that penetrated the Joseon Dynasty. It is a great stem and the most developed period in the history of Western music. Among the dance styles of Western music that shared the pages of the Joseon Dynasty and the period, the concepts of Jeongak and folk music were considered, and the difference was that court culture and salon culture were similar to Jeongak and Pungryu music. The difference is that the aristocratic dance culture of Western music originated in most folk culture, and unlike Korean dance styles, touch between men and women is common and has a variety of beat systems. As such, research on the dance style of Korean and Western music should be conducted simultaneously, and I hope this study will be a cornerstone.
