This study was conducted to understand the overall level of integrity of firefighters.
Data collection was conducted through a survey of 152 firefighters serving in G Province from 00 00 to 00 0000. The questionnaire consisted of 6 general characteristics and 15 questions related to integrity, and the response was measured on a Likert 5-point scale from ‘very not (1 point)’ to ‘very much (5 points). The collected data were analyzed using the statistical program SPSS 29.0, and as a result of the reliability analysis, Cronbach’s α=.897, the internal consistency of the tool was found to be very high. As a result of the study, the overall level of integrity of firefighters was relatively high above average, and in particular, positive perceptions were confirmed in the establishment of an integrity system, clarity of procedure, punishment of violators, and regular evaluation. However, concerns about the factors that hinder integrity related to personnel solicitation, nepotism, and payment still existed. The difference in integrity according to general characteristics was found to have statistically significant differences according to the number of years of service, position, class, marital status, and educational background. Based on the results of this study, it suggests the need for future fire organizations to improve organizational culture by enhancing transparency in the personnel system, strengthening integrity education with practical effects, and preparing institutional mechanisms to prevent nepotism and unfair instructions.
