국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 초고령 사회에서 심리적·정서적 안정을 제공하는 고령 친화 공간 계획을 강조하며, VR로 일반 환경과 바이오필릭 환경을 구현해 PRS와 HRV를 측정했다. 바이오필릭 디자인 환경에서 PRS 분석은 심리적 안정이 높게 나타났고, HRV 지표 중 일부는 스트레스가 증가했으나 호기심과 긍정적 긴장감으로 해석되었다. 이는 바이오필릭 디자인이 고령자에게 심리적·정서적 안정을 제공하는데 효과적이다는 사실을 보여준다.

As society enters a super-aged era, the planning and management of environments for the elderly remain insufficient. Aging often causesphysical and psychological instability, highlighting the need for spaces that promote stability and well-being. This study explores whetherenvironments with biophilic design elements provide psychological and emotional comfort for older adults. Using virtual reality (VR), twoenvironments were created: a general setting and one incorporating biophilic elements, both experienced by elderly participants. Psychologicaland physiological responses were assessed through the Perceived Restorativeness Scale (PRS) and Heart Rate Variability (HRV). Resultsshowed higher PRS scores in the biophilic environment, indicating greater perceived restorativeness. HRV results revealed two groups: oneshowing increased stress and another showing reduced stress. Participants with increased stress reported feelings of curiosity and positivearousal, suggesting engagement rather than negative tension. These findings, supported by the fascination component of the PRS, confirm thatbiophilic design fosters psychological and emotional stability in older adults. Thus, integrating biophilic elements is essential in creatingrestorative environments for the elderly.
