This study proposed an algorithm to evaluate the performance of a lithium-ion battery energy storage system (Li-BESS) while ensuring its safety. To achieve this, it identified safety factors based on domestic Li-BESS fire investigations and analyzed the technical standards and criteria for these safety factors. This study then developed and demonstrated a performance evaluation algorithm that considers safety of the Li-BESS.
