We tried to analyze how the apology and apology of Korean speakers created by the AI language model and what the difference means for Korean language education for foreign learners. Research shows that GPT mainly uses “improvement demands” and “understanding” strategies, and tended to focus on problem solving and negotiations. On the other hand, Korean speakers use various strategies such as ‘asking reason’, ‘warning’, ‘rebuilt’ in line with the situation and social relationship, and the expressions of the other person’s feelings are noticeable. In particular, GPT tended to use emotions frequently, while Korean speakers used more strategies to solve problems or to build their opponents than to express emotions in consideration of their face, while Korean speakers are more likely to express their emotions. In this regard, GPT suggests that there is a limit to the cultural sensitivity and social context in the actual Korean discourse. This study emphasizes that apologies created by AI language models such as GPT are limited to reflecting Korean complex social and cultural variables. When using AI for Korean language education, it was not just used as a tool for creating a sentence, but it was confirmed that more sophisticated prompt design and context -based learning materials were needed.
