In recent years, an eight-fascicle edition of *Fomen Dingzhi* (佛門 定制), compiled by Zhan Chenggao and newly discovered in a Ming imprint preserved through Qing-period reprinting, has come to light. This work should be regarded as part of the ritual formats promulgated in the sixteenth year of the Hongwu reign (1383) under the policy of “Standards for Ritual Norms”(儀範科儀). The eighth fascicle contains additions from the early Ming period, whereas the first seven fascicles preserve materials that predate the Ming and thus represent remnants of the “Song-style regulations” transmitted into the Ming during the “world-transforming” transition from the Yuan to the Ming. This text significantly influenced later ritual compendia in the Ming and Qing periods and holds substantial scholarly value for the study of Chinese Buddhist ritual practices from the Song dynasty onward.
