North Korea has continuously conducted ballistic missile launches, with the KN-25 short-range ballistic missile(SRBM) being the most frequently launched among them. The KN-25 is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and has a short flight time, significantly limiting the response window for defensive systems. Consequently, the strategic importance of Aegis-equipped vessels —capable of both detection and interception— has increased substantially. This study aims to identify the optimal deployment locations for Aegis destroyers in response to KN-25 threats. Radar cross-section(RCS) values were calculated based on publicly available specifications, and missile trajectories were simulated by incorporating aerodynamic drag. Using the computed RCS values and known detection capabilities of Aegis radars, detection durations were estimated. Furthermore, based on the specifications of the interceptor missiles, the study evaluated the time-based intercept feasibility. By overlapping the detection duration and interception feasibility, the optimal deployment positions for Aegis vessels were derived. Finally, two interceptor systems —SM-6 and L-SAMⅡ— were comparatively analyzed to assess how enhanced interceptor performance affects the optimal deployment strategy of Aegis destroyers
