감각적 생성 미학 : 사진 이후, AI 이미지의 조형성과 예술 가능성 = Aesthetic of Sensory Generation: Post-Photography, the Formative Structure of AI Images, and the Possibility of Art

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 생성형 인공지능(AI) 이미지의 예술적 지위를 19세기 사진의 역사적 경로에 비추어 분석한다. 사진이 작가의 '감각적 개입'을 통해 예술로 인정받았듯 AI 창작 과정 역시 예술적 실천이 될 수 있음을 주장하며 이를 '감각적 생성 미학(Aesthetic of Sensory Generation)'으로 정의한다. 본 논문은 AI 창작과정을 개념미술, 생성 예술, 인간-컴퓨터 상호작용(HCI) 미학, 그리고 포스트휴머니즘 이론을 통해 '인간-AI 공동창작' 모델로 심화시킨다. 나아가 AI 이미지의 '비지표성(non-indexicality)'이라는 한계를 극복하기 위해 '관계 미학'을 비판적으로 검토하고 그 대안으로 '관계의 질'을 다각적으로 평가할 수 있는 새로운 분석틀—절차적 탐구·데이터 정치학·물질생태적 얽힘·사변적 포스트휴먼 협업—을 제시한다. 이를통해 본 연구는 '감각적 생성 미학'이 AI 예술을 기술적·정치적·생태적·존재론적 차원에서 비판적으로 분석하는 구체적인 방법론임을 논증한다.

This study analyzes the contemporary debate on the artistic status of generative AI images through the historical lens of photography's legitimation as an art form. Drawing a parallel to photography which transcended its mechanical nature through the artist's 'sensory intervention' this paper argues that the AI image generation process constitutes an artistic practice proposing the 'Aesthetic of Sensory Generation' as a theoretical framework. The study deepens this framework by reinterpreting the creative process as a 'Human-AI Co-Creation' model drawing on theories from conceptual art, generative art, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) aesthetics, and posthumanism. To address the challenge of 'non-indexicality' in AI images, the paper critically examines 'Relational Aesthetics' and proposes a novel alternative analytical framework for assessing the 'quality of relations.' This framework consists of four pillars: procedural inquiry·data politics·material·ecological entanglement·speculative posthuman collaboration. Ultimately, this study argues that the 'Aesthetic of Sensory Generation' provides a concrete methodology for critically analyzing AI art across technical, political, ecological, and ontological dimensions.
