With rapid digital technology development, AR applications in education, especially for children with ASD, offer new possibilities. Based on flow theory, this study examined how visual elements in AR picture books—color, image, animation, and interaction—affect ASD children's reading engagement. Using surveys, behavioral observation, and SEM analysis, results show all elements positively influence engagement, with interaction and animation being most effective. Findings provide theoretical support and practical guidance for AR design in special education.
