다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract) kakao i 다국어 번역

From the Late Goryeo to the Early Joseon Period, the printing of the Tripitaka Koreana was carried out as a state-led project, supported by active governmental sponsorship and the use of administrative organizational systems.
The leading agents of printing were often the king or ruling elites, who initiated the projects not only to pray for the peace and stability of the state but also for personal religious faith or specific objectives.
Due to the unique nature of the Tripitaka being carved on wooden printing blocks, great care is required in its preservation and consultation. Therefore, a systematic investigation and classification of the printed editions are essential. The extant printed editions were produced at various times, and some show differences in content and format depending on the particular woodblocks used. Each edition can be categorized as prints from the original blocks, prints from newly re-carved blocks, or prints from revised and re-carved blocks. In order to trace and compare the original sources of the printing blocks, a meticulous investigation of the Tripitaka Koreana printed editions across different periods is necessary.
For a deeper understanding of each block and to recover the woodblock carving techniques, two primary steps must be taken. First, the various printed editions currently preserved at Haeinsa Temple(海印寺)’s storage facilities and museum should be re-examined and classified according to their printing period and book format. Second, the status of Tripitaka Koreana printed editions housed both domestically and abroad, along with their key characteristics, should be systematically and thoroughly surveyed. Haeinsa Temple should strengthen its role as a central institution by building a database of existing information on the Tripitaka Koreana printed editions, including details on block carving, printing, and related research.
