"The development of the fashion industry is highly related to the development of the modeling industry. Models drove the fashion industry to become the driving force based on the ideal body desired in the fashion market.
In particular, in the four major fashion collections, models are recognized as the standard of beauty of the time, and models are playing a role in leading the fashion trend beyond simply wearing and expressing clothes. Most of the models are active through agencies, which communicate with fashion companies and promote models through models that fit their needs and images. The model's body size and external standards represent that era. Therefore, this study analyzes the body size of the model belonging to the agency by selecting three stores in cities that host four fashion collections among overseas agencies. As a result, it was confirmed that the standard of physical beauty pursued by overseas agencies was different, and the sizes of models operating by New York, London, Milan, and Paris branches were also different. However, it seems difficult to generalize body size because this study selected and investigated only three of the overseas agencies. Therefore, it is hoped that future studies will be conducted to investigate the body size of models or compare body sizes with domestic models based on data on more overseas agencies."
