The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of expanding traditional art and its artistic value by examining the convergence cases of Korean traditional music and fashion and examining its value. As a research method, the theoretical foundation was reviewed by analyzing actual cases of fashion shows that combine Korean traditional music and fashion, and limitations and possibilities were suggested through convergence cases conducted at home and abroad.
As a result, it was noted that domestic and foreign designers utilize traditional content that fits their values, which leads to successful examples of traditional emotions and localization strategies. The various cases considered in this study have artistic, social, and sustainable value elements, and this does not end up as a one-time performance of epidermis, but has limitations and homework that it can only lead to consumption as a value element if it is sustainable. In the end, the center of the Korean Wave must shift to tradition, and for this, convergence with various genres is essential.
Through this study, we hope that convergent exchanges between various other genres will continue in the future and that traditional contents will continue to be consumed as a valuable culture to the public.
