This study examined the impact of the level of green management activities in logistics companies on the compensation of internal employees. The results showed a significant negative relationship between the level of greenhouse gas emissions and employee compensation, while a significant positive relationship was found between greenhouse gas emissions relative to sales and employee compensation. Regarding energy consumption, the study found a significant positive relationship between the level of energy consumption and employee compensation. However, when energy consumption was controlled for sales, a negative relationship with employee compensation.
The study revealed a positive relationship between the scale of greenhouse gas emissions and wage growth, but a negative relationship when greenhouse gas emissions were controlled for sales. In terms of energy consumption, there was a negative relationship between the level of energy consumption and wage growth, whereas a positive relationship was observed when energy consumption was controlled for sales.
Regarding the level of green management activities based on company size, larger companies exhibited higher levels of greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, energy consumption relative to sales, and energy consumption growth rate compared to smaller companies. However, in terms of greenhouse gas emissions relative to sales and the growth rate of greenhouse gas emissions, larger companies showed lower levels compared to smaller companies. This study reveals a close association between a firm's external CSR activities and its internal CSR practices. Therefore, it is essential for companies to develop CSR strategies that are explicitly linked to employee compensation, ensuring a more integrated and effective implementation of corporate social responsibility.
