참전유공자의 국가수호 정신과 보훈 정책 = Spirit of National Defense of Veterans and Veterans Policy

The agency in charge of National Veterans Affairs was established on April 14, 1950, with the promulgation of the Military Veterans Affairs Act. It was established as an independent ministry on July 29, 1961, with the enactment of the Military Veterans' Affairs Office (Vice Minister level). However, this did not mean that compensation and reparations were implemented. It was not until the 21st century that just compensation and reparations were made. On March 11, 2004, the Ministry of National Veterans Affairs was upgraded to a ministerial-level agency of the Ministry of National Veterans Affairs, and after several changes in status, it was again upgraded to the Ministry of National Veterans Affairs on June 5, 2023, thus establishing the status of national veterans. This repetition of status and wealth is seen as unjust.
It is a flawless and beautiful act by the government of the Republic of Korea to raise and elevate the status of those who have contributed to the country. We must not forget the sacrifice and dedication they gave their lives for our people, our country, and our descendants. And we must not forget that God gave our descendants the strength to protect freedom and the courage to bring about democracy. This is a product of the achievements and accumulation of Korea's veterans policy. These are truly Korean heroes for whom I am grateful.
Time has passed, and many of our veterans are aging and at high risk. We can't help but look back at them. Time is running out. We need to take this opportunity to raise the profile and value of the veterans' benefits. The value of Korea's national veterans is that they have had a significant impact on the country's development. Therefore, the government should not only recognize the national veterans under the old veterans' law, but also implement a veterans' policy that is in line with the changing times. The objectives of the program are as follows: to promote veterans' awareness, to resolve ideological conflicts among veterans, to serve as a mechanism for social integration, to strengthen honor, and to promote social harmony and intergenerational connections. Against this backdrop, we seek to resolve conflicts in the ideology of veterans and the content of values that have been controversial in society.
