    Purpose: After examining the current status and prospects of China's EV waste battery market, we would like to focus on the significant policies and systems related to the waste battery recycling industry of China's central and local governments. The primary purpose of this study is to analyze the trade and economic implications contained in China's EV waste battery recycling industry policy. In addition, we would like to closely examine the case of China, which is making the EV waste battery treatment problem an industrial policy, to explore its impact on Korea.
    Composition/Logic: Regarding the circular economy, which has recently attracted attention along with ESG management, the Chinese government actively promoted the policy and system of the waste battery recycling industry, which were announced one after another and were discussed as the main targets. Chapter 2 discusses the global waste battery market and China in terms of circular economy, and Chapter 3 presents the Chinese waste battery recycling industry policy at the central and local government levels. Chapter 4 analyzes the trade and economic effects, and implications of China's waste battery recycling industry policy. Chapter 5 presents the implications of China's waste battery recycling industry for Korea, dividing it into government and corporate aspects.
    Findings: Through the waste battery recycling industry, the Chinese government can link exports and investment to the EU, prepare for the U.S. supply chain blockade to China, and reduce external dependence on key resources. Additionally, we are trying to create trade and economic effects, such as enhancing Chinese companies' global competitiveness and linking them, by exploring various business models and strengthening companies' ESG management through the intensive fostering of waste battery recycling companies. Accordingly, the Korean government or company needs to seek, first, the need to introduce related policies or systems as soon as possible; second, support Korean companies' export market development through active monitoring, research, and benchmarking; and third, active project cooperation with China and the EU.
    Originality/Value: This study evaluates and interprets the trade and economic effects, and implications of recently introduced policies and systems for developing of China's EV waste battery recycling industry, which is most actively preparing like the EU. This is sufficiently meaningful as an essential study for Korean companies to explore new export markets and enhance external competitiveness in the future.
