It is necessary to redefine the roles and qualities of art teachers in the flow of art education that reflects contemporary philosophy and arts. Constructivist epistemology influenced by phenomenological thought and existentialism, philosophy such as Gadamer's ontological hermeneutics which explains on the ontological basis the understanding of others. The flow of contemporary art, which is called relational art, focuses on the process of drawing people's relationship and the experience of interaction. A new media environment that has introduced a new way of human interaction by enabling various mediations of social interaction, and constructivist theories that emphasize the process of making knowledge actively through social interaction have demanded the new roles and qualities of art teachers.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the roles and qualities of teachers as mediators of interaction based on semantic consideration of these interactions. Art teachers should play a role as a mediator of dialogue, relationship, empathy, sharing and cooperation. First of all, the teacher should aim for a new purpose of art education called 'relationship formation and restoration'.Art teachers should form Dialogical relationships through arts education, learn through mutual coordination and consensus, and share their lives by sharing their stories and understanding each other. Teachers should mediate the relationship of empathy and sharing, and should be able to empower empathic attention and acceptance of other people 's perspectives through art education. Teachers should be aware of the importance of sharing, empathy and openness, creative activities based on cooperation, awareness of extended communities, consideration through various forms of learning, harmony, critical interaction, importance of participation, and playing a role as a facilitator to create creative activities.
