지방자치단체의 지역대학 지원사업 추진 실태와 정책과제 = 산학협력 사업을 중심으로

Since the early 2000s, financial programs for higher education initiated by local governments have been increased and have three times more compared to those by the central government. But, the actual amount of budget barely reaches 3% of the entire amount of budget for higher education. Nevertheless, the budget scale that local governments are pushing ahead independently is larger than total amount of matching funds supported by the central government. It shows that financial programs funded by local governments which are centered upon university-industry collaborations reflecting regional specificity are rare. In this context, we conducted three representative case studies according to three types of university-industry collaborations, classified by ⅰ) education and training, ⅱ) research and development, and ⅲ) university-industry collaboration infrastructure building. It is revealed that such programs are effective for promoting the competitiveness of local universities and regional economy.
