외국인 노동자의 한국생활 적응력 향상에 영향을 미치는 주관적 인식 = The Subjective Perceptions of Foreign Workers concerning the Adaptation to Life in Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to find a way to adapt to life in korea themselves by defining and sorting the subjective perceptions that they have been influenced on improving the adaption to life in korea. 17 foreign workers had implemented Q-sorting which has 40 statements about their life adapting to korea. As the results, it divided into the following four types through Q Methodology. The people of the first type called “object realization” have been doing well in korea and sending the wages, but the cost of living, to their country. The people of the second type called “pursuing their objectives” has received a cold reception at their company and even beaten. However, they are reluctant to endure the treatments so that they can earn the money and send it to their family. The people of the third type called “adaptation-oriented workers” recognize that it is not only important to learn korean languages but also they need a help form diverse support organizations to get accustomed to korean food, culture, and so on. The people of the fourth type called “a industrious person” have been thinking that language’s skill is very important to mingle with korean and trying to adapt to their company. This study means that the company that hired foreign workers is required to improve it’s recognition and treatment against them. In addition, when the expansion of a employment support, a social welfare service counselling and law advices for foreign workers is supported by governments, it would be more helpful for them.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 외국인 노동자의 한국생활 적응력 향상에 영향을 미치는 주관적 인식을 파악하고, 이를 유형화함으로써 외국인 노동자의 한국생활 적응력 향상 방안을 마련하는 데에 있다. 외국인 노동자의 한국생활 적응에 관한 40개의 진술문을 가지고, 17명의 외국인 노동자들을 대상으로 Q 분류를 하게 하였다. Q 방법론을 통한 외국인 노동자의 한국생활 적응에 관한 주관적 인식유형은 첫째, “적응ㆍ목적 실현형”, 둘째, “푸대접ㆍ목적 추구형”, 셋째, “적응지향ㆍ목적 미추구형”, 그리고 “적응노력ㆍ목적 추구형”으로 나타났다. 이 연구의 결과가 주는 함의는 제도적 측면에서는 외국인에 대한 국가의 고용지원 정책의 확대, 기업의 측면에서는 외국인에 대한 인식과 태도가 변화되어야 한다는 것이다. 또한 외국인 노동자들을 위한 생활상담, 법률지원, 교육 등과 같은 사회복지서비스가 뒷받침될 때 외국인 노동자들의 한국생활적응에 많은 도움이 될 것이다.
