Quest in Jungian Psychology and Religion

ObjectivesZZBy summarizing the author’s own personal experience, this article will explore issues and topics concerning Jungian psychology and religion.
MethodsZZThe author discusses curricula and issues during her training period at two Jung institutes in Korea and America as well as at the Union Theological Seminary in New York.
ResultsZZBy reviewing the process of becoming a psychoanalyst and redefining several concepts on religion, the article reveals a practical framework for a dialogue between religion and psychoanalysis.
ConclusionZZThe author’s personal training over 10 years was fulfilling despite frequent exhaustion and doubt. Studying religion and psychiatry abroad also helped empower the author to pursue the real meaning of life and learning, both as an analyst and a person.
