궁중정재복식에 사용된 한삼의 변천 = The changes of the Hansam as a Royal Court Dancing Costume －Since the Joseon Dynasty until the Japanese Colonial Era－

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 조선시대 이후 일제강점기까지 궁중정재복식의 한삼(汗衫)을 연구대상으로 삼아 문헌기록, 궁중기록화, 복식 전세유물, 근대 사진자료를 바탕으로 의미적 분화 과정과 형태적 변천, 의궤를 중심으로 실제 사용례를 밝히고자 하였다. 조선시대에 한삼은 저고리 안쪽에 입는 속옷을 의미하였다가 손을 가려서 예의를 갖추고자 소매를 길게 하였고, 점
차 분리되어 조선 후기에는 손목에 원통형의 천을 두르는 간단한 형태로 바뀌었다. 조선 전기의 한삼은 󰡔악학궤범󰡕의 처용관복에서처럼 흰색의 소매길이가 긴 장수의(長袖衣)였고, 이 위에 의(衣)를 덧입음으로써 한삼의 길고 좁은 소매자락이 의의 소매 바깥으로 늘어져지도록 착용하였다. 조선 후기의 한삼은 오색한삼, 옥색한삼 등이 있고 장수의는 단의(丹衣), 단의(單衣), 처용의 의(衣) 등이 있으며, 한삼과 장수의가 공존하다가 점차 한삼만 남았다. 한삼의 크기는 좁고 짧았으나, 대한제국기를 지나 일제강점기로 들어서면서 점차 넓고 길어졌다. 연향의궤의 구체적인 기록으로부터 조선 후기 한삼의 실제 사용례를 살펴보면 한삼은 성별, 정재별로 다른 종류를 선택 사용하였으며 시기에 따라 변화하였다. 여령은 오색한삼을, 무동은 한 가지 색상으로 만들어진 한삼을 착용하였다. 오색한삼을 기본으로 하여 백한삼, 홍한삼, 녹한삼, 옥색한삼이 사용되었고, 한 연향에서 오색한삼을 기본으로 몇 가지 한삼을 혼용하여 정재의 다채로움을 추가하였다. 연향을 준비함에 있어 본 공연용과 연습용 한삼을 구분하여 제작하였고, 정재의 중요도에 따라 옷감의 품질을 달리 하기도 하였다. 정재별로 한삼의 색상과 각종 재료와 비용이 달랐다. 착용자별로도 차등이 있어서 선천여령(宣川女伶)은 일반여령과 품목은 유사하였으나 재료와 장식에서 차이가 있었고, 한삼 역시 고급으로 갖추었다. 이상의 연구를 통해 궁중정재복식과 이를 둘러싼 복식문화, 제작과 지급과 착용에 관련된 문화에 대한 이해를 높이고자 하였다. 향후 연구의 축적을 통해 시기별, 정재별, 착용자별 복식이 상세히 밝혀지면 보다 정확한 고증이 가능하고 새로운 전통문화 콘텐츠의 발굴과 기획에도 이바지하리라 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine the changes of the hansam, one of the Royal Court Dancing Costumes, since the Joseon Dynasty until the Japanese colonial era. The historical consideration are made from the documents, the paintings on banquets in the royal palace, artifacts and photos. In particular, the actual use cases are researched based on Uigwe(Royal Protocols). Hansam was dressed as an underwear to wear inside jeogori in the Joseon Dynasty but it has separated from the clothes into a piece of cloth around the wrist in the late Joseon period. Hansam in the early Joseon period was the long-sleeved clothes like Cheoyong s costume in 󰡔Akhakgwebeom󰡕. The types of the late Joseon s hansam were five-colored hansam and jade green hansam and the types of the late Joseon s long-sleeved clothes were danui(red clothes), danui(single layered clothes) and Cheoyong s ui(outer robe). The size of hansam has been Increasingly long and wide. There were several kinds of hansam, so specific hansam was choosed in accordance with the gender or the kind of dance. Five-colored hansam was for female dancers and solid-color hansam was for boy dancers. The types of the late Joseon s hansam were five-colored hansam, white hansam, red hansam, green hansam, and jade green hansam. The colors, materials and costs of hansam were different depends on dance s contents or importance. Female dancers from Seoncheon(宣川) s hansam were made with luxury, expensive material to classify general female dancers. Intensive study on the royal court dancing costume and its cultural background, such as production, provision, and wearing, can enhance the understanding of the royal court banquet culture.
