국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 윤동주 시의 발생론적 根源을 살펴보는 연구이다. 그동안 윤동주의 시 연구의 역사는 그의 고향 ‘북간도에 관한 해석의 역사’라고 할 만큼, 그의 시는 북간도와의 관계망 속에서 그 의미를 형성해 왔다. 하지만 북간도에 관한 일반론적인 접근만 이루어진 채, 윤동주의 북간도가 지니는 특수성과 구체성에 대해서는 제대로 규명하지 못하는 한계를 드러내었다.
따라서 북간도를 구체화하는 데에 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 그런데 여기서 윤동주의 북간도는 다름 아닌 ‘북간도 기독교 공동체’를 의미한다. 그래서 윤동주 시 형성에 직 · 간접적으로 영향을 미친 ‘북간도 기독교 공동체’의 풍경을 풍성하게 복원시키고자, 역사 · 신학 · 문학 등 다양한 층위에서 총체적인 접근을 시도하였다.
이에 대한 연구의 결과물은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 그들은 디아스포라의 땅인 북간도에서 그들은 놀라운 ‘사건들’을 경험한다. 그들은 ‘집단이주’를 하였고, ‘새 민족 공동체’를 구상하여 학교를 세우고 교육에 온 힘을 쏟았으며, ‘집단개종’하여 ‘평등사상’과 같은 기독교 신앙을 직접 경험한다. 둘째, 그들은 그러한 과정을 통해서 이른 바 ‘에큐메니컬 정신’ : ‘화해와 일치의 평화를 지향하는 정신’을 획득하게 된다. 그래서 ‘해방이후’ 보수적인 서북 기독교의 일부 흐름과는 다른 진보적 기독교의 기원으로서 북간도 기독교 공동체를 마침내 형성하게 된다. 셋째, 그들 공동체의 에큐메니컬 정신은 그 구성원이었던 윤동주 시세계를 구성하는 데 결정적 영향을 미친다. 구체적으로 윤동주의 시집 『하늘과 바람과 별과 詩』의 ‘시작’과 ‘끝’에 나오는 두 시편은 모두 에큐메니컬 시세계를 형상화하고 있고, 그 ‘사이’에 놓인 시편들도 에큐메니컬 세계의 구성 요소인 ‘성찰적 주체’와 ‘역사의식’을 선명하게 드러낸다.
이러한 접근은 ‘초월/내재’, ‘보편/특수’라는 이분법적 구도 속에서 윤동주의 시를 파악하던 관행에서 탈피하여, 변증법적 위치에서 그의 시를 해석하는 새로운 독법이 될 것이다. 다시 말해 북간도 기독교 공동체가 추구한 에큐메니컬 세계는 진보적 신학인 아래로부터의 신학에 근거하여 보편성을 추구한 것에 그 의미가 있듯이, 윤동주의 시세계도 보편성을 추구할 수 없는 상황에서 보편성을 지향한 것이야말로 윤동주 시의 진정한 가치이다. 디아스포라를 넘어서 에큐메니컬을 지향하는 윤동주의 시세계가 더욱 구체화되기를 기대해 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article is a study inspecting the source of development theory of Yoon Dongju’s poems. Meanwhile as much as the study history of Yoon Dongju’s poems could be said the interpretation history on Bukgando which was his hometown, his poems had made up meanings in the relational net of Bukgando. However only general approaches were done on Bukgando, the limit of not to clear up on the distinct characteristics and concreteness of Yoon Dongju’s Bukgando was revealed.
Therefore this study aims at concreting Bukgando. By the way, Yoon Dongju’s Bukgando in the article means just as ‘christianity community in Bukgando’. So, to exuberantly recover view of ‘christianity community in Bukgando’, this study tried whole approaches with various level such as history, theology, literature and so on.
Results of the study are followings. First, they experienced astonishing ‘events’ in Bukgando as land of diaspora. They did ‘mass migration’, conceived ‘new ethical community’, established a school, strived for educating, did ‘mass conversion’, and directly experienced ‘christian faith’ such as ‘ideology of equality’. Second, they attained so-called ‘ecumenical spirit : the spirit to aim at the peace of reconciliation and accordance’. Thus they finally made up ‘christianity community in Bukgando’ as the origin of progressive christianity different from conservative west-northen christianity. Third, the ecumenical spirit of their community critically influenced to forming the poetic world of Yoon Dongju, a member of that community. For example, two poems, the first poem and the last poem, in Yoon Dongju’s poem collection『Haneulgwoa Baramgwoa Byeolgwoa Si』(『Sky, Wind, Star and Poem』) embodied ecumenical poetic world. Other poems between them revealed ‘introspective subject’ and ‘historical consciousness’ as components of ecumenical world apparently.
These approaches will become new reading methods interpreting Yoon Dongju’s poems in dialectical position beyond the practice which grasped Yoon Dongju’s poem in dichotomous system such as ‘transcendence vs immanence’ and ‘universality vs specificity’. In other words, it was meaningful that ecumenical world aimed by the christianity community in Bukgando sought to universality based on progressive theology from the bottom, likewise the real value of Yoon Dongju’s the poetic world was to aspire for universality in the situation could not aim to universality. I anticipate that the poetic world of Yoon Dongju aiming to ecumenism will be more concreted.
