국문 초록 (Abstract)

조선조 후기 안경은 독서계의 변화와 함께 지식ㆍ정보를 축적하고, 방대한 저술을 남기는데 기여한다. 일부 사대부 계층은 안경을 끼고 총서류 저술이나 다양한 필기를 남긴 바 있다. 또한 藝人들도 안경을 착용하여 자신들의 예술적 영감과 능력을 작품에 표출하기도 하고, 일부 계층은 오락을 위해 안경을 활용하기도 한다. 이처럼 조선조 후기에 다양한 계층의 인물들은 안경을 활용하여 자신의 능력과 정감을 발산시킨다. 안경의 보급과 확산은 조선조 후기 문화를 새로운 방향으로 견인하고, 한편에서는 문화변동의 자양분으로 기능한 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In the late Choson dynasty the glasses made the literati class possible to not only accumulate knowledge and information but also produce a large amount of writings, bringing the changes to the reading public. Some of the literati could leave a collection of books and various kinds of handwritings, wearing the glasses. The artists also put on the glasses to express their artistic inspiration and capability in their works and some of them even conjugated the glasses for their pastime. In short, people in every work of life utilized the glasses to pour out their talents and feelings. The distribution and spread of the glasses drew the culture to a new direction in the one way and functioned as a driving force for the cultural changes in the other way in the late Choson dynasty.
