      This thesis aims to search formation backgrounds, literary world, and values of literary history in the text of EuiyudangYugo, the works of Madam Euiyudang Nam. As a result of contemplation, it was understood that EuiyudangYugo, alongside with EuiyudangKwanbukYuramIlgi and GonBum, was compiled and accumulated by the palace, mediating the queen for women culture of the gentry. Reviewing the women culture of Euiyudang’s maiden family and in-laws, it was verifiable that cultural atmosphere of the two families were adequate for developing and spreading literary attainments. In particular, by the benefit of the liberal atmosphere of the husband’s family towards education of women, many wives including husband’s grandmother to sisters cultivated basic culture and Sino- Korean works writing abilities suitable for literature activities. Only under such cultural atmosphere was Euiyudang also able to leave a collection of her works called EuiyudangYugo. Euiyudang performed outstanding literary accomplishments in particularity with classical Chinese prose. Her skills of stretching out splendid yet detailed observations and serene compassion shows remarkability; especially by expressing her literary capacity with composing <BaekryeonbongSamcheongdongSeo> in ByeonRyo(騈儷) style. Her works in EuiyudangYugo are largely classified into two: those which hold the excitement of daily life in Samcheongdong三淸洞, and those reciting to yearn for the lord about the queen after homecoming. The former shows the short but intense life in Samcheongdong through fine sceneries and warm hospitality from the palace, and the latter expresses the deepening yearn for the lord about the queen after leaving Samcheongdong through Sino-Korean poetry. It is noticeable that there are numerous pieces reciting on the yearn for the lord, among those in EuiyudangYugo. This can be interpreted as an aged woman in feudal society signifying herself as a being with sense of social responsibility relying on the tradition of literature of yearning for the lord. Simultaneously, it is due to the fact that women, considered in the tradition of literature for yearning for the lord as a subject to be alluded to, independently demonstrating the specific literature themselves. That is to say that women of the gentry with qualities of Chinese classics in the traditional period exposed their novel aspects through internalizing the previously male-dominated literary traditions.
