Up-to-date market dynamics and intense competition have forced a manufacturing system to be more adaptive, flexible, and responsive than ever. In other words, manufacturing companies have faced with highly complex and dynamic decision-making problems. Therefore, it is necessary to employ various decision-making and execution systems such as ERP(enterprise resource planning), MRP (manufacturing resource planning), and MES(manufacturing execution system). However, many of small and medium sized manufacturing companies have faced with difficulties in introduction of the systems because of inferior infra-structure of information systems. This paper proposes a production scheduling framework for the small and medium sized manufacturing company. The framework is based on timing constraints propagation mechanism, and it employs a negotiation-based task allocation method. In this paper, an algorithm for timing constraints propagation is proposed, which is composed of two phases, and a simple case study is also presented along with computational experiments.
