조선후기(朝鮮後期) 영사악부(詠史樂府)의 협운 활용 양상에 대하여 = Theory of Xueyun(葉韻) and its Application in Literature in Late Joseon Period

After Sim Gwang-se(沈光世) composed Haedong-Akbu(海東樂府) in 1617 after the model of Li Dong-yang(李東陽)``s Yigu-yuefu(擬古樂府), various companion volumes by various authors emerged in late Joseon. The remarkable examples are as follows : Lee Ik(李瀷)``s Haedong-Akbu, Oh Gwang-un(吳光運)``s Haedong-Akbu, Lee Gwang-sa(李匡師) and his son Lee Yoeng-ik(李令翊)``s Dongguk-Akbu(東國樂府), Lee Hak-gyu(李學逵)``s Yoengnam-Akbu(嶺南樂府) and Haedong-Akbu. Li Dong-yang introduced xueyun(協韻) in his Yigu-yuefu so as to break from the ordinary rule of versification and to restore the ancient sound of hanzi(漢字). However, Sim Gwang-se did not adopted Li Dong- yang’s theory of xueyun in his Haedong-Akbu. Among the companion volumes of Haedong-Akbu, Lee Gwang-sa and Lee Hak-gyu employed xueyun in their works, but both of them did not adopt Li Dong-yang’s theory of xueyun, neither. Lee Gwang-sa``s theory of xueyun seems to be based on his own phonology, but deeper research is needed. Lee Hak-gyu refered to Shao Chang-heng(邵長□)``s Gujin-yinlue(古今韻略) in his Yoengnam- Akbu as far as xueyun is concerned. It is probable that his citation of Gujin-yinlue is related to his career that he have participated in the compilation of Gyujang-jeonun(奎章全韻) as an editor. In late Joseon, many experimental literary works emerged that authors tried to diverge from the rules of versification. Both Lee Gwang-sa and Lee Hak-gyu suggested relaxed rhyme categories i.e. xueyun in their works. Their employing of xueyun should be estimated to be a literary experiment that they applied their own phonological theory to their own literary works.
