There have been a number of efforts to reduce the emission of GHGs(Green House Gases) which is the fundamental cause of climate change. However, there are limitation to adopt the representative measures including alternative energy sources development, the energy efficiency improvement of products and energy use minimization, because those change and regulate the human life style. On the other hand, the absorption of CO₂ by green infrastructure can not only cope with the climate change but also enhance the amenity without the change of life style. Therefore, the effect of green infrastructure on CO₂ absorption is analysed in this study. The CO₂ absorption of newly adopted green infrastructure increases 2.2%, and the outskirt areas where are huge mountains show remarkable CO₂ absorption than the areas inside of Seoul. It means that the areas inside of Seoul need to introduce new type of green infrastructure and improve the quality by changing the species and increasing the density of trees to respond to the climate change more efficiently.
