18세기 조선통신사와 지식,정보의 교류 = Joseon Missions to Japan in the 18th Century and Exchange of Knowledge and Information

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper analysed “the files of conversation by writing(筆談唱和集)” between Japanese writers and the intellectuals of the middle class who worked as “Joseon Missions to Japan(朝鮮通信使)” on following years “Shinmyonyeon”, “Gianenyeon”, “Mujinnyeon” and “Gyeminyeon” in the 18th century and tried to explain an aspect of communication between them about the knowledge information. The intellectuals of the middle class took the lead in the cultural exchange with Japanese intellectuals who they met during the missions and they carried out cultural exchange with various intellectuals of Tokugawa shogunate with singing poems and conversation with writing about knowledge and information. At that time, some intellectuals of Tokugawa shogunate to Joseon Missions to Japan did not think even to adopt the Joseon culture and some intellectuals considered Joseon Missions to Japan as the envoy to pay a tribute. It is said that this reaction reveals the attitude of anti-Sinocentrism and this attitude shows another aspect of the intellectuals in Japan’s reaction to Joseon Missions to Japan. Thus, two aspects coexisted at that time such as a positive aspect to Joseon Missions to Japan and a negative aspect to them and it assumed that this negative aspect contains the possibility to develop into the Seikanron(Advocacy of a punitive expedition to Korea).
