무등산 레전드, 해태타이거즈 = A Story of Hae-Tae Tigers, A Legend of Mt. Mudeung

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of the Haetae Tigers, one of Korean pro baseball teams in the past, on the individual lives of its fans through micro-history. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the fans of the Haetae Tigers had nothing to do with the birth of Korean pro baseball socio-politically to the point that they could be said to be alienated, but its child members enjoyed their lives as the fans of the team, and a baseball cheering culture was created, which served to enrich their cultural lives. Second, this team was like a buddy friend for its fans, not a mere baseball team. The team could be regarded as the only hope of the fans who had been oppressed, and taught them that one could try again even if he or she didn``t succeed this time. Finally, the Haetae Tigers disappeared after it was changed into the KIA Tigers due to the financial difficulties of its parent company 1997. Nonetheless, this team has remained as a symbol of hope among its fans.
